White House Confirms IAT Report: Trump at Modi Bonanza

Washington, DC – The White House in a statement from the Press Secretary confirmed an earlier report from IAT that on Sunday, September 22, 2019, President Donald J. Trump will travel to Houston, Texas to underscore the important partnerships between the United States and India.

“In Houston, President Trump will participate in an event with Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India,” confirmed the statement.

“The event, “Howdy, Modi! Shared Dreams, Bright Futures,” is expected to draw tens of thousands of people. It will be a great opportunity to emphasize the strong ties between the people of the United States and India, to reaffirm the strategic partnership between the world’s oldest and largest democracies, and to discuss ways to deepen their energy and trade relationship,” detailed the White House Press Secretary.

Washington, DC – US President Donald Trump will appear at a Houston rally of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 22, according to reliable sources here confirming to IAT.

Earlier, the Texas India Forum in Houston announced that the “Howdy, Modi!” community summit will host Prime Minister Narendra Modi at NRG Stadium on September 22 and expects a capacity crowd of 50,000 to pack the stadium. NRG Stadium, one of America’s largest professional football stadiums, is home to the Houston Texans franchise, and held the Super Bowl in 2017. The event will include a cultural program and an address by Prime Minister Modi.

Now with the confirmed attendance of President Trump, the tagline for the summit, “Shared Dreams, Bright Futures” gets completion, as it reflects the intent to build on the common aspirations that bring together the great democracies of the United States and India.

Prime Minister Modi will visit the US from September 21-27 during which he will address the annual UN General Assembly session and have a series of bilateral and multilateral engagements in New York, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said.

“The (PM’s) visit will be from late evening of September 21 to forenoon of September 27,” ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar said during a media briefing.

According to an updated list of speakers for the General Debate of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), Modi will address the session on the morning of September 27. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s address will be later on the same day where he is sure to bring up the ongoing issue of Kashmir.
