Statement by H. E. Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of Algeria and President of the Security Council for the month of January, at the Security Council meeting on Cooperation between the UN and League of Arab States

H. E. Ahmed Attaf, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Algeria — which holds Council presidency for January — emphasizing that the security situation is critical in one third of League member States.

“The quick and rapid developments in our region have dangerous repercussions,” he emphasized. 

“More than ever, we need an Arab-UN partnership that breathes new life into Arab diplomacy”, Minister Attaf added.
