Robbinsville, NJ – Late Former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam was honored and his book was presented as dignitaries remembered the scientist who dedicated his life for the upliftement of India.
The event was organized at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir with the launch of his final book and gift to mankind, Transcendence, which documents a 14-year journey between Kalam and Pramukh Swami Maharaj, the fifth spiritual successor of Swaminarayan.
Speaking on the occasion, Harikishan Eppanapally, Chairman of the Board, Lead India, Inc. (US)” said, “Anything going outside the orbit floats, the relationship between Dr. Kalam and Pramukh Swamiji proved the fact that when we transcend beyond religions we are all are in the same spiritual plain and Pramukh Swami elevated Dr. Kalam into this spiritual plain. We have to all learn from this relationship and try to be in that spiritual plain.”
The event was a tribute to Kalam’s lifetime of dedicated public service and varied contributions to India’s development as a country.
The program began with the prayer “Man uski karo prarthana” followed by video presentation showing the life story of Kalam.
Anand Shah, founder of Indicorp and Sarvajal said, “Dr. Kalam was a preacher of India, a preacher of the strengths of India to youths, as he knew that youth is the power of the future.
Speaking on the occasion, Swami Chaitanyamurtidas wondered, “Should we remember Dr. Kalam as a President of India? Should we remember him as one of the greatest scientist of India? Should we remember him as the first scientist President of India? We have gathered here today to remember him as the first scientist President Rushi of India.”
Concluding the event, Swami Swayamprakashdas said, “The best way to pay a tribute to Dr. Kalam’s life is to live our lives like he lived his. A life of simplicity. A life of hard work. A life of devotion. A life filled with spiritual wisdom.”
The book, Transcendence, explores one man’s journey to discover universal truths, unlock the science behind progress, and understand the critical role of spirituality in leading India forward.
In the book, he narrated his visits to historic sites worldwide, religious and secular, while reflecting on the various moments of divinity he experienced along the way.
