The screening sponsored by NCISAFF, founded by grand daughter of the princess Gauri Singh, was attended by Secretary of State, Elaine F. Marshall along with her Granddaughter, Isabella. After watching the film Secretary Marshall commented, “I was very touched by the film. It is very well developed story. It basically covers life of Yadvi, but it shows what dignity, honesty, pride and human relationships come to play in human’s lives. It is a story that is very sad, but it is a story of someone who does the right, believes the right things and therefore live the life they believe they were chosen to lead. I enjoyed it very much.”

Another dignitary in attendance was former Mayor of Morrisville, NC, Mark Stohlman, who in his statement to Jyoti Singh, the lead actress said, “Thanks again for having me at the film festival. I really enjoyed the independent films, especially Yadvi-The Dignified Princess. You should be very proud of the film and it’s an incredible story. It’s nice to know some royalty!”

Others who attended the festival include the Mayor of Morrisville, NC, TJ Cawley; Senior Town Council Member of Morrisville, Steve Rao; and NC Senator Floyd Mckissick Jr.

Expressing her gratitude to all attendees, festival founder, Gauri Singh, said, “I want to thank everyone who came out to support our festival.”

Yadvi – The Dignified Princess is a film depicting a true story of a princess from Patiala, named Yadvi, caught in the moral and societal dilemmas that existed in the period right before and after the independence of India.
