Bedminster, NJ/Washington, DC – There were hundreds of protestors with an array of signs near Trump National Golf Club, joining tens of thousands of people protesting across the US over the Trump administration’s strict migrant policy.
To escape the nationwide protests over immigrant family separation row, President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania and their 12 year old son Barron, along with her mother Amalija Knavs were joined by Trump’s daughter Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner, and their kids as the whole family headed to Trump’s New Jersey golf club, more than 200 miles away from the White House for the weekend.
The protestors gathered near the Bedminster golf course, at an intersection outside what appeared to be a public library. Some of them waved at the traveling journalists as the vans drove by, or waved their signs. Also en route on Route 206, journalists passed a group of protesters, many with signs about immigration policy such as “Asylum seekers are not criminals.”

“God knows you lie”
“My civility is locked in a cage / reunite families now” accompanied by the drawing of a child behind a chain link fence
“Even the Trump family belongs together”
“Stop racism now”
“We the people say no to the Trump agenda” taped over a rainbow flag.
“Mueller ain’t goin away”
“Do you know where our children are?”
There were plenty of golfers on this hot, sunny day with temperatures in the low 90s. The second-floor railing of the main clubhouse was decorated with red-white-and-blue bunting, and the course surrounding the clubhouse was a lush green.

In a sweltering heatwave that is gripping the nations capital, a sizable crowd gathered in Lafayette Square, across from the White House. There were signs carried by people of all ages, races and colors, while the gatherings were addressed by some of the star speakers on the subject of bringing families together.
Trump Takes to Twitter
Earlier on Saturday, ensconced in his Golf Club hideout for the weekend, President Trump took to Twitter and in two tweets blamed the Democrats for all the ills and defended the agency that played a central role in carrying out the separations – the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Telling ICE employees: “You are doing a fantastic job of keeping us safe by eradicating the worst criminal elements. So brave!,” Trump tweeted: “To the great and brave men and women of Ice,” adding, “do not worry or lose your spirit … The radical left Dems want you out. Next it will be all police. Zero chance, It will never happen!”
Trump this week bowed to public pressure after weeks of domestic and international outrage with an executive order, which stopped children being taken from parents who face criminal prosecution as part of the president’s policy of “zero tolerance” towards illegal crossings of the US border from Mexico.
Some 2,000 children remain separated from their parents, despite President Donald Trump’s executive order ending the controversial policy.
