Good afternoon everyone, dear colleagues, ladies, Gentlemen, excellencies, thank you for joining us today.

It is a beautiful day here at UN and I am greatly honored and humbled to be among the co-organizers of the 2022 Diwali Stamp – Power of One Award ceremony.

Very briefly, couple of points I want to make, first of all congratulations to Ranju and Ravi Batra for their dedication, perseverance and success to celebrate Diwali with us, as well as all the missions, co-organizers of this event.

It is a first time I am part of this beautiful event, but Georgia has originally been engaged in establishing this annual ceremony, specifically my predecessor and dear friend ambassador Kaha Imnadze, who’s name will be mentioned again during this afternoon and I want to take a moment and thank him for his legacy.

It needs no explanation how we all need the spirit and power of Diwali today in the world, victory of light over darkness, good over evil but also, knowledge over ignorance, hope over despair.

It usually takes ONE to kick start a process that may bring this kind of change and we are delighted to celebrate this spirit with deserving representatives, champions of the principles of the charter, that are planned to be honored today. I thank you for your work.

I will yield here, and give this floor to Ambassador Kamboj, Permanent Representative of India, dear Ruchira the floor is yours.
