Editorial: Mike Pence; Power Transferred Freely on January 6th; Criminal Referrals to DOJ Saved Postage; and Cosmic Karma: October Surprise in 2016 Cancels in 2020

Must read

“We the People” take for granted, since the founding of our Republic, the peaceful transfer of power, and mistakenly think it occurs when one POTUS leaves the White House on January 20th before Noon, and another POTUS moves in to the White House in the afternoon for the next four years. Actually, the peaceful transfer of power from then-President Trump to then-elected President Biden was to take place on January 6, 2021 when the Electoral College vote was accepted and certified, bring to a conclusion the 2020 election.

They honored their Oath
Without Mike Pence – like the “Little Dutch Boy” who put his finger in the dike to stop the leak from collapsing the dike and saving the town – honoring his Oath of Office, our Republic may have been fatally wounded, and the “Hang Mike Pence” mantra would have had other Leaders given him company. Of course, our Republic has a new risk: if a future POTUS commits a crime, s/he may not wait for their V.P. on January 6th, but instead, order our then-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to impose martial law. We can only hope and pray that if that happens, we will have General Mark A. Milley filling in that spot, and like Mike Pence, then our Republic remains free of tyrants.

Yesterday, the Select January 6th Committee investigating the Insurrection for legislative action made many criminal referrals to the DOJ. We who honor our Oath – those who love Trump or hate Trump – must in unison thank each member of this Committee, especially Bennie Thompson and Liz Cheney, for they laid bare what grievous wound was inflicted by Mr. Trump as he, like the fabled “Pied Piper” of folklore, brought good Americans to distrust America, American Leaders, and attack the Peoples’ home, Capital Hill, so he could remain in the White House thanks to “enemies foreign and domestic” that he nurtured and orchestrated.

October 2016 Surprise Settles October 2020: James Comey denied Hillary, and SM & MSM denied Trump
Mr. Trump maybe right that SM, including Twitter and Facebook, along with MSM, including New York Times and Washington Post, who killed the New York Post story on Hunter Biden in October 2029 cost him a victory in November 2020. But, then, we must recall that he only won in 2016 after the fatal Access Hollywood tape, because then-FBI Director Jim Comey violated the 60-day pre-election DOJ rule and killed Hillary with a “Blank” re-opened investigation on October 11, 2016. It’s fair to say that had Hunter been plastered across the news in SM or MSM, Trump would have won re-election in 2020. That said, it is cosmic Karma: Hillary for Trump. Score settled, and our Republic is free to move on.

Hot Congress in 2023: Starring Hunter Biden

Since our founding fathers hated power being concentrated, and separated it on purpose, they will relish our Congress in 2023, as it does what dissent does best: make folks squirm, and cause more to honor more of the Ten Commandments.

DOJ – AG Merrick Garland – Jack Smith
After AG Merrick Garland was forced to appoint Special Counsel Jack Smith, when both Joe Biden and Donald Trump announced they are running for POTUS in 2024, Mr. Trump has problems as Jack Smith is an intellectual descendent  of my dear friend and mentor, and a great American, Hon. Robert M. Morgenthau, and he will “fly straight,” “without fear or favor.”

Referrals Saved Postage
Yesterday’s Criminal Referrals, and a the accompanying turnover of evidence, merely save us some USPS postage stamps. After all, Jack Smith with a subpoena would have gotten the Committee’s work product, so he could not be accused of not being through, which he is.

This 117th Congress Should be Proud
On January 6th, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Leader Mitch McConnell honored their Oath and supported Mike Pence, and together, did their job. This Congress can at least be proud of the efforts of this Select Committee, as we can now all say to Ben Franklin: Sir, we are still a Republic!
