October 14, 2022. The January 6th planned & plotted Insurrection has finally knocked on the door of the Pied Piper: President Trump.
That it took so long to do that may also be it’s undoing. If the Midterm elections in November result, as is expected despite President BIDEN’s yeoman efforts to win over slice after slice of voters with goodies, with Republicans winning the House: then on January 3rd 2023, the new majority can pull the plug on the Select Committee and the Subpoena dies.
Still, despite the political calendar, the January 6th Committee’s miscalculation to better package – by using a Hollywood producer – the actual raw story, the singular fact glares at each American: a duly elected president of these United States, Donald J. Trump, violated his Oath of Office and selfishly misled honest, patriotic, motivated Americans willing to nourish the Tree of Liberty with their blood.
This Trumpian stain on America and patriotism is the evil our 1787 exceptional Constitutional separated powers regime sought to avoid from ever happening. But for Vice President Mike Pence, just one man, the goal of American exceptionalism, peaceful transfer of power, almost failed on January 6, 2020. January 6th is worse than Pearl Harbor and 9/11 combined.
Social media has exploded citizen participation, but ended neighborly conversation. If we are to re-unite, so E Pluribus Unum is a reality again, each American will have to talk and touch our fellow Americans. Maybe, we need to bring back the American Melting Pot, so the adage “do in Rome as the Romans do” applies again, and get rid of the “beautiful mosaic,” where each group of immigrants keep their culture and prejudices of the “old country” intact, with What’s App free calling, and forget that they owe loyalty and love to America and fellow Americans, so America can remain beautiful for all.
America is both an idea and an ideal humanity has yearned for through the ages. It now falls on each one of us to love our nation & our Founders, who gave us our Bill of Rights. They weren’t perfect, but neither are we, and we need to get rid of our arrogant hubris, when it is, as always, based upon abject ignorance.
