Washington, DC – India’s top diplomat to the US today (October 15) highlighted the importance for the IT industry and opportunities available at an upcoming GlobalSoft 2020 event in India.
Addressing a select audience of business leaders and government officials, Indian Ambassador Harsh V. Shringla called for the launching of a delegation from SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) industry who need organizational support.”
Stressing that the “Global Soft 2020 event to be held March 3-4 in Hyderabad, India will be an opportunity for SMEs,” as a bigger event (than last year), the Ambassador said he was looking forward to both Virginia and Maryland to be “well represented,” among other US states.
Nalin Kohli, Chair, IndiaSoft and member of GlobalSoft committee echoed the Indian Ambassador’s sentiments that large companies already exploit the opportunities while small and medium companies in the US haven’t realized the Indian market potential yet.
Noting that IndiaSoft has 250 companies – representing many cities such as Pune and Benguluru – Kohli hoped, “US companies can do well to partner with these 250 companies of IndiaSoft.”
With robust IP laws, US companies can be assured about the Intellectual Property (IP) concerns, said Kohli, noting, “At a nominal price, we provide this platform.”
D.K. Sareen, Executive Director, GlobalSoft predicted that the 2020 event will be “largest event” India has done in the sector. Praising Ambassador Shringla’s tenure in different countries, Sareen hoped, “We are bound to see success during Ambassador Shringla’s tenure here.”
Sareen listed three major opportunities that India offers today: Partnership
Collaborative work
Third country exports
With 7000 IT companies in India while the US has the number in millions ~ 3.2 million, Sareen said, “so huge potential for collaboration.”
Ellen Meinhart, International Manager, Virginia Economic Development, shared the vast spectrum of resources that Virginia is offering to encourage business ties with India.
Sharing his experience in participating at the last GlobalSoft event, Bejugam V. Rao, President and CEO of Amruta Inc., urged the participants to go a day earlier to get adjusted and explore the environs, highlighting “the opportunities for forming alliances and partnerships.”
As a one-stop point for the IT industry from across the globe, the second edition of GlobalSoft 2020 is being projected as the gateway for interested enterprises to the vast market of India, the emerging markets of Africa, CIS countries and Middle East.
